Overview
Psychedelic use traces back to ancient times but we are now seeing a resurgence of interest among patients and the medical community. This lecture will provide a background and review up-to-date research on the most popular substances—ketamine, psilocybin, MDMA—as well as provide insight into their place in the current legal and political landscape. Topics include historical background, set and setting, psilocybin research (e.g., Good Friday experiment, palliative care context), ketamine (versatility, biochemical models), MDMA (PTSD research), and integration therapy.
